Pomegranate Martini Recipe
Author: Eileen Nelson | Recipes Freelance Contributor
Ingredients:
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce pomegranate juice
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
1 ounce simple syrup (made by dissolving equal parts sugar and water)
Ice cubes
Pomegranate seeds, for garnish (optional)
Lime twist, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Chill a martini glass in the freezer for at least 10 minutes before preparing the cocktail.
2. In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka, pomegranate juice, lime juice, and simple syrup.
3. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, ensuring it's about three-quarters full.
4. Securely place the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 20 seconds. This allows the ingredients to mix thoroughly and the cocktail to become chilled.
5. Remove the martini glass from the freezer and strain the cocktail into the chilled glass.
6. If desired, garnish the drink with a few pomegranate seeds sprinkled on top or a twist of lime peel.
7. Serve the Pomegranate Martini immediately and enjoy the refreshing and tangy flavors.
Note: For a mocktail version, simply omit the vodka and increase the amounts of pomegranate juice, lime juice, and simple syrup to taste. Shake with ice and strain into a martini glass for a delightful non-alcoholic option.
